DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 230°F.
2. Using the pasta machine, brayer or acrylic roller create equally thin sheets of
transparent clay. Wrap each glass votive holder with the clay sheet. Light must
be able to shine through the finished holder, so clay coat should not be too
thick or overlap. Remove small edge sections and carefully smooth the bumps
with your finger.
3. Copy pattern template a few times and cut out individual sections. Arrange on
the votive holder.
4. Use one of the plastic page protectors as a base. Roll out a black sheet of clay
and place the paper pattern on top of it. Trace the edges with pencil,
transferring the lines onto the clay.
5. Use craft knife to cut pattern from clay. Remove remaining clay and leave the
pattern on the film. Smooth edges and round off curves.
6. Take the film with your pattern and carefully place it on the wrapped votive
holder. Lightly press down the black clay and carefully remove the film.
Smooth edges or bumps using a modeling tool.
7. Bake the votive for 30 minutes at 230°F. Allow to cool.
